Quantum Optics, Quantum Nanophysics and Quantum Information »
This area includes research on the fundamentals of quantum physics as well as its practical application. Theoretical research deals with the fundamentals of quantum physics, quantum optics, quantum many-body physics and quantum information. The experiments in this area focus on preparing, manipulating and detecting individual quantum objects or quantum-correlated ensembles of photons, atoms, molecules, nanoparticles and micro-oscillators through to solids and organic systems. Applications include several quantum technologies such as quantum information processing, quantum-based sensors and structuring methods, as well as new technologies and mathematical models for complex Q-systems.
